Philadelphia Rooftops, Beer Gardens, and Park Pop-Ups That Just Reopened
This week handed Philadelphia its annual “get outside” starter pack. Bok Bar reopened today, Thursday, April 9, with its South Philly rooftop, skyline views, drinks, food, and its usual warm weather pull. Liberty Garden is back for the season at Independence Mall, stocked to the gills hammocks and Pennsylvania beer and wine near the Liberty Bell. And Parks on Tap kicked off its 2026 run at Azalea Garden starting Wednesday, April 8, with the roaming beer garden once again turning city park space into actual plans.

Bok Bar Is Back And Is Still Destined to Hit Every Time
Bok Bar reopening always feels bigger than a normal seasonal opening because nobody really goes there for just a drink. You go because the roof in South Philly makes the whole city look better. And, okay, also because the timing usually lines up perfectly with golden hour and you can get that perfect timeline photo every time. Today, April 9, is their opening day, and the return brings the expected combo of rooftop views, seasonal drinks, food, and that familiar social energy people wait all winter to get back.
Liberty Garden Is Quietly One of the Best Day-to-Night Spots
Then there’s Liberty Garden, which has a completely different kind of spring energy. Instead of the rooftop crowd-and-sunset thing, this one leans into the slower version of being outside: hammocks, local beer and wine, and a setting right by the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Also, the fact that it sits inside one of the most visited historic parts of the city makes the whole thing feel a little ridiculous in the best way…Philadelphian history over here, hammock and local pour over there.
Parks on Tap Is Back and Moving Through the City Again
Parks on Tap returning might be the clearest sign that the city is done with winter behavior. Their 2026 season opened this past Wednesday, April 8, at Azalea Garden, with Wednesday through Friday evening hours and Saturday through Sunday daytime-to-night hours. The reason Parks on Tap works so well is because it makes being outdoors feel like the entire point, not just the backdrop. It is less about getting to one fixed hotspot and more about Philly treating park space like part of its nightlife personality.
Taken together, these openings are not just random seasonal returns. They mark the point where plans get easier and the texts become simpler. Nobody really needs a huge agenda, you just need a roof, a garden, or a park, and the rest usually sorts itself out. Philadelphia is officially back outside.
Oh, and if you’re already planning your next few weekends out, you might as well lock something in now.
