Philadelphia's World Cup Headquarters Might Be a Brewery

All great World Cup watch parties do not necessarily need to happen inside a traditional sports bar. Across Philadelphia, breweries are transforming taprooms into match day destinations complete with everything you need to have a smashing good time. We’re talking giant projectors, drink specials, giveaways, and food features.

If you're looking to trade sticky bar floors for fresh beer and a little more breathing room, these breweries are making a strong case for becoming your World Cup headquarters.

Yards Brewing Company

The Philadelphia brewery is airing every tournament match with sound throughout the taproom and building special events around many of the biggest games, and the specials alone are worth the visit. Guests can grab $5 Philadelphia Pale Ale pints during the tournament, while Mexico supporters can enjoy $5 Cerveza Mexican-Style Lager pints whenever Mexico takes the field.

Yards is also hosting raffle giveaways during USA matches, including a 40-inch television and Yards gift cards, giving fans even more reason to cheer for every goal. Food specials including poutine, tostadas, and apple pie help round out the experience.

And unlike many Center City watch locations, Yards offers free on-site parking.

Love City Brewing

Love City Brewing is bringing a backyard watch party atmosphere to the World Cup. Matches are being shown on a projector with full game sound, creating the kind of environment where every controversial referee decision gets a reaction from the entire room.

Between matches, fans can participate in raffles, enjoy drink specials, challenge friends to ping pong, or jump into a game of cornhole while waiting for kickoff.

Victory Brewing Taproom

Sometimes simple works best.

Victory Brewing Taproom is taking a straightforward approach to the tournament: the game is on, the sound is on, and the beer is flowing.

Not every World Cup experience needs giant giveaways and themed specials, which is why we’re loving that Victory Taproom is keeping things simple. And for soccer fans who want the focus squarely on the action, that's more than enough.

Cartesian Brewing

Cartesian Brewing is giving soccer fans one very good reason to keep coming back throughout the tournament: $6 Pub Ales for the entire World Cup.

The relaxed taproom atmosphere makes Cartesian a great option for fans looking for a less crowded alternative while still enjoying the excitement of tournament soccer.
