Doom
Let's start with a bar that doesn't exactly need Halloween to look creepy.
Doom in Callowhill is a dark, heavy-metal-inspired bar with gothic and macabre touches, including stained glass, dim lighting and a bone chandelier. The bar serves cocktails, beer and a food menu that goes beyond the standard bar lineup.
The vibe is less pumpkin-spice Halloween and caters more to those whose Halloween vibe leans dark, weird or metal, making Doom a pretty natural place for ya’ll to start the night.
Monster Vegan
As previously mentioned, of course some bars decorate for Halloween. However, Monster Vegan raises this notion one better, saying, why stop at October?
This Center City restaurant and cocktail bar is built around horror and retro-film nostalgia, with classic monsters, Hitchcock, Twilight Zone and other genre favorites playing throughout the space. The bar serves cocktails, tiki creations, seasonal beers and alcohol-free options alongside an entirely vegan menu.
It's also home to horror movie screenings and a Haunted Happy Hour, making it one of the easier places in Philly to get your Halloween fix, especially when the drinks arrive looking appropriately terrifying.
Neon Clown Dream Lounge
If clowns are your personal nightmare fuel, we have found your bar.
Neon Clown Dream Lounge is a Fishtown cocktail lounge packed with colorful neon lighting and circus-inspired decor. It's filled with enough clown imagery to make you question whether you've walked into a cocktail bar or the world's strangest fever dream.
The lounge serves cocktails, mocktails, wine and beer, with drinks carrying names like the Endless Nightmare and Doom Cruiser. Here, the decor is doing half the work for your Halloween costume photos.
Uptown Beer Garden's Haunted mansion

Uptown Beer Garden has never believed in subtle Halloween decorating, and this year’s Haunted Mansion theme is no different.
The Center City beer garden transforms for spooky season with elaborately creepy decor, giant monsters, skeletons and clown-inspired touches. Halloween-themed cocktails and drinks are part of the experience, too, of course.
For 2026, Uptown's Halloween setup is already up and running now through spooky season.
So if your Halloween plans involve a giant outdoor bar covered in creepy decorations, put this one on the list. It's also a particularly easy stop if you're spending the night around City Hall and Center City.
Cityside Pumpkin Patch at Liberty Point
Okay, technically this one is a pumpkin patch.
But when that pumpkin patch has more than 10,000 pumpkins, fall cocktails, seasonal food, carnival games, spooky photo spots and a waterfront bar, we're counting it.
Cityside Pumpkin Patch returns to Liberty Point from October 1 through November 1, 2026, transforming the Penn's Landing waterfront hub into a giant fall and Halloween playground. There are pumpkin-smashing activities, scarecrow archery, carnival games and plenty of places to grab a halloween-y drink.
And Then There's Monster March
If the thought of selecting just one Halloween bar sounds stressful for you, boy do we have news for you. You don't have to!
Urban Craft & Crawl's Monster March: Philadelphia's Halloween Bar Crawl is happening Saturday, October 31, 2026, throughout Center City.
Check-in is at Lucy's from 6–9 p.m., with the crawl running from 6–10 p.m.
The event brings together 10+ participating Center City bars, DJs, Halloween drink specials, food deals at select stops and free cover for wristband holders through 10 p.m., with costumes being very much encouraged.
Halloween only happens once a year, so you might as well crawl!
