Wine Dive Is Back on Sansom Street
Philadelphia’s favorite wine bar with dive bar swagger has a new zip code. After a 2022 fire shuttered the original spot, Wine Dive is finally reopening in Rittenhouse at 1534 Sansom Street, with a fresh room, a retail bottle shop, and a calendar already stacked with classes and guest pours.

So… when can you go?
Opening weekend is set for Friday–Saturday, November 7–8 (2–8 p.m.), with a soft open teased for Thursday, November 6. From there, initial hours land at Tue–Thu noon–9 p.m. and Fri–Sat noon–10 p.m.—great for pre-dinner glasses, post-show nightcaps, or an impulsive “let’s pop in” moment.
The vibe
The new room leans into a glam without the fuss vibe, the kind of place where you can geek out over a pour or just park at the bar and people watch. It’s intentionally easy: by-the-glass options that won’t stall a conversation, playful cocktails, and the welcome addition of a bottle shop so you can taste here and take something home.
Why we’re excited
Wine Dive isn’t tip-toeing back; it’s rolling in with programming from day one, cheese classes, guest sommeliers, even seasonal craft nights, so weeknights suddenly have plans again. Reservations and event tickets are live, which means you can lock a seat instead of gambling on a walk-in.
Quick backstory
Wine Dive debuted on South Street in 2020 from the team behind neighborhood staples like Hawthornes and Sonny’s. The 2022 apartment fire upstairs paused everything, but we think the team stuck the landing on a Center City revival that keeps the spirit while upgrading the address.
