Philadelphia Spring Festivals Are Back

Spring in Philadelphia tends to show up all at once with street closures every weekend, and we’re okay with that.

People are out earlier, staying out longer, and suddenly every neighborhood has something going on. That’s the magic of spring here; it’s so much more than just one event. It’s a stretch of weeks where Philly turns into a series of block parties, cultural celebrations, pet friendly events, and food-filled days that turn right into food-filled nights.

If you’re looking to make the most of it, here are some of the festivals that should absolutely be on your radar.

Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival

The Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival takes over Fairmount Park on March 28th and 29th, with peak spring visuals, including, of course, cherry blossom trees fully in bloom, as well as cultural performances, art vendors, food vendors, and a beer garden.

It’s scenic and it’s one of the few festivals where people actually slow down for a minute.

Furry Friends of Frankford Pet Festival

This one is exactly what it sounds like, and also somehow better.

On Saturday, April 4th from 12 PM to 6 PM, the Furry Friends of Frankford Pet Festival turns the neighborhood into a total pet party – for a good cause. The SPCA will be standing by to connect you with your newest best friend! In addition, find dogs in costumes, local vendors, live music, and enough pups to make you stop every five steps to say hi to another.

Rex Manning Day

Say it with us: “Damn the man, save the Empire.”

Rex Manning Day on Saturday, April 12th from 12 PM to 7 PM is Philadelphia’s yearly nod to Empire Records, and yes, it’s as niche and fun as it sounds. Do attend for throwback music and a crowd that absolutely understands the assignment.

Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival

The Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival, happening Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 11 AM to 5PM, is one of the biggest food events of the season, stretching down Main Street with dozens of vendors, food trucks, and crowds that are fully locked into eating their way through the day.

Flavors on the Avenue

South Philadelphia does food festivals the right way, and Flavors on the Avenue continues to prove it.

East Passyunk Avenue shuts down on April 26th from 12 PM to 5 PM, turning the neighborhood into a full neighborhood celebration. Restaurants spill out on the street, live music plays around you, drinks are flowing, and a crowd passes by that feels equal parts locals and people who just discovered the area.

Between stops at these events, you might want to add in a solid spot to catch the action. In that case, check out our guide on Where to Watch March Madness in Philadelphia on our blog and plan your next move between festival hopping and game day.
